How to prepare and post images

Images for this site must be optimized so that they are:

  • No wider than 400 pixels
  • 72 pixels per inch (PPI)
  • Under 50k in file size
  • RGB color mode

Use these tutorials if necessary.

When adding a Post, be sure to:

  1. Copy the image from your own web site, along with the description and buy-now button, if you have it.
    • Paste it into a new Post editing box of this web site.
      • Usually with the Visual tab active.
      • If you are pasting code rather than display, then paste into the HTML tab.
    • Most of the time, the image links, site links, and buy-now buttons will copy in without needing reformatting.
  2. If you don’t like that idea, then add images to Posts using the Upload Image function (icons right above the editing icons in the Post editing screen).
    • Refrain from using the Caption field, as it interferes with the shadows and borders which will automatically appear when you publish a Post.
  3. Title the Post with the work’s title and your name; nothing else.
  4. Choose all the appropriate sub Categories:
    • Artist
    • Media
    • Style
    • Subject
  5. Also choose and add Tags that describe your work.
  6. Publish.
  7. View the new Post live so you can really see what it looks like.
  8. To edit, click the Edit link (small gray text under the Post).
